1 Day Workshop: (Lunch Included)
Spend a day immersed in the colours and textures of the Higher Spargo landscape, creating vibrant botanical drawings in soft pastel inspired by the work of internationally acclaimed artist Zachary Logan.
After a short introduction, you'll wander through the farm and orchards gathering seasonal grasses, wildflowers and other natural treasures to use as our subjects. Back in the studio, Gabrielle will demonstrate a distinctive pastel technique she learned whilst studying with Logan in Canada, combining rich soft pastels with dramatic charcoal grounds to create luminous botanical studies that seem to glow from the page.
Suitable for both beginners and those with drawing experience, the workshop begins with a series of simple exercises to build confidence before developing your own finished composition. Along the way you'll explore colour, texture and mark-making while discovering new ways of observing the natural world.
By the end of the day you'll leave with a striking finished artwork and a fresh approach to working with soft pastels.
