Pinch Teapots with Hannah Lawrence

£210.00

Saturday 23rd - Sunday 24th May 2026

Additional charge of £15 per day lunch

This two-day workshop offers an opportunity to develop your pinch-pottery skills through the making of a complete, functional teapot and two cups. Led by ceramicist Hannah Lawrence, the course focuses on thoughtful making, careful construction, and the quiet satisfaction of bringing multiple elements together into a resolved form.

You’ll work step by step to form the body, lid, spout, and handle, learning how to combine these elements into a balanced and beautifully made teapot, shaped entirely by hand and unique to you. Over a convivial lunch each day you’ll get to know you fellow potters and have the opportunity to share experiences and become part of the Higher Spargo community.

Hannah’s approach to pinch pottery is self-taught and developed through years of making and travel. Her practice has been shaped by experiences around the world, and she brings a generous, considered teaching style that offers both technical clarity and thoughtful insight into working with clay in this direct, tactile way.

The workshop is best suited to potters with some prior experience of working with clay. Numbers are limited to eight participants, ensuring close guidance and meaningful support throughout each day. All materials and equipment are provided, along with tea, coffee, and treats.

Your finished teapot can be glazed and fired after the course, at at an additional cost of £1 per 100g of finished pottery.
